  • National Conference on Cognitive Computing (NCCC-22)

The 2nd National Conference on Cognitive Computing (NCCC-2022) is being organized by NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering and Management Studies in association with IEEE Communication Society, Pune section from June 02nd– 03rd , 2022,in-person mode. The main objective of this conference is to bring students and researchers from academic institutions and research organizations on a common platform for sharing the comprehension, knowledge and experience in the computing technologies being adapted in the field of Science & Technology and Management.

Following speakers were invited to deliver their technical talk in the field of cognitive intelligence:

1. Mrs. Uma Ganesh Natrajan , Managing Director from GTT Foundation Head and Zensar Board Member has delivered her talk on the topic “ Industry Expectation about Future Technology “.

2. Mr. Raosaheb Shinde, Director of Magicflare Industries and Client Partner, Ideas to Impacts Innovations Pvt. Ltd. Had a wonderful session on the topic “Industry Expectation from Researchers”.

3. Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Co-founder and CTO of  Datametica Solutions Private Limited delivered a technical talk on the topic Industry 4.0.

4. Mr. Brajesh Kumar , Founder & Global Managing Partner from Universal Technology Solutions, India / Singapore /UAE has elaborated the significance and importance of topic “Industry Research”.

Event organised for students

  • NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering had signed MOU with B&R Industrial Automation Private Limited to start “Centre of Excellence in Automations and Mechatronics”. The objectives of MOU are to strengthen the Industry Institutes interaction. This will help the students to bridge the knowledge gap between the industries and institutes. This will also help the students to gain research projects, internships and placements in industries. A formal online inauguration of this centre is held on 19th March, 2021 with auspicious hands of Mr. G. K. Sahani, Trustee, Sinhgad Technical Education Society, Pune and Mr. Jhankar Dutta, Managing Director, India Region, B&R Automations Private limited. Principal Dr. S. P. Patil, Heads of all departments of NBN SSoE, staff and more than 214 students of all departments were presents online for this inauguration function.

  2. Department of Mechanical Engineering, NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering organised online seminar on “Awareness for Earth Safety” on the occasion of Earth Day on 25th April, 2021. More than 33 students and faculties attended this function.
  3. Coordinators from Mechanical Department: Prof. K. S. Mahajan, Prof. G. V. Pise.
  • ONLINE ALUMANI MEET (Academic Year 2020-21): was organised for all department on 10th April, 2021. This meeting was addressed by Principal Dr. S. P. Patil, All Heads of department, Department Alumni Coordinators and T&P Coordinators were present for this meeting. More than 107 alumni of Mechanical department have attended this meeting. Some keynote speaker from mechanical department were as below:

  • Ms. Juily Patil (Sr. Software Engineer at Accenture, Pune)
  • Mr. Nikhil Dixit (Sr. Engineer at Sandavik Ltd, Sweden)

Some valuable feedback from Alumni were-

  1. Encouragement for Competitive Exams and guidance Centre at institute need to start.
  2. More placement opportunities in core companies should be provided from Institute.
  3. Encouragement for more co-curricular activities like SAE events and Robotic          

     championships, it will help students to enhance practical knowledge.

  • Online Parent- Teacher meet 2021: was organised for various deparments of NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering on 3rd April, 2021. This meeting was addressed by Principal Dr. S. P. Patil, All Heads of Department, Staff members of various department and Tranning and Placement officers. More than 200 parents and have attended this meeting. Various topics on the career planning and all-round development of students were discuused with the parents.

  • National Conference on Cognitive Computing (NCCC-21)

Online National Conference on Cognitive Computing (NCCC-21) was jointly organized by NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering and Management for students and faculties from June 28th -30th, 2021. This Conference provided a platform for prospective engineering to showcase their work on hardware as well as software things in the field of Engineering and Management. The conference track emphasised on latest trends in the domain of smart computing, new trends in smart city, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, e-Vehicles, Security and surveillance, Smart manufacturing and industrial automation.

Guest Lectures / Workshops conducted

  • The event “Career Opportunities in Engineering” organized by Mechanical Dept on Friday 7th Feb, 2020. The total no of participants were 64 from Mechanical Engineering Department. The resource persons were MR. NATHAJI SHELKE from HELIX INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS, Pune.
  • The event “Octave Workshop” organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on Friday, 7th Feb 2020. The event was organized at Fundamental Programming Lab. The total no of participants were 54. The resource persons were Sarang D. Chaudhari from Mahindra Tech. Pvt. Ltd and Prof. N. A. Patil from NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering.
  • The event LATHE WAR organized by Mechanical Department was started at 10:00 am on 6th Feb 2020, Thursday. The event was organized at NBNSSOE Workshop. The total no of participants were 52. The judge was Prof. C. P. Kadu, Workshop Superintendent from SVCP. The winner Akshay Adlinge from NBNSSOE and the runner-up Kaustubh Pawar from SKNCOE was finalized.
  • The event “GREEKAGE” organized by Mechanical Department was started at 10 AM on Saturday 8th FEBRUARY. The event was organized at SKNCOE Parking. The total no of participants was 38. This event was concluded at 3 PM. The winner AJINKYA JADHAV from NBNSSOE and the runner-up Pratiksha Davande from NBN SSOE.
  • The event “DEBATE” organized by NBNSSOE, was started at 9 am TO 1 pm on 6TH FEBRUARY 2020 THURSDAY. The event was organized at CLASS ROOM NO 3 MECHANICHAL DEPARTMENT. The total no of participants were 40. The judges were MRS RUPALI PATIL from SVCP COLLEGE and MR. V. R KAGADE from NBNSSOE. As per the score sheet of the Judges the first prize winner was ANIKET GAIKWAD AND TANMAY SALKE from NBNSSOE and the runner-up was HARSH PARADKAR from NBNSSOE.
  • The event “CAD WAR” organized by Mechanical Department was started at 10:30 AM on 07/02/2020, Friday. The event was organized at CAD LAB (Dept of Mech. Engg). The total no of participants were 30. The judges were Prof. R. K. Nanwatkar  & Mr. S. D. Bhaisare (Faculty, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NBNSOE, Pune).  The winner Miss Trupti Pawale from NBNSSOE, Ambegaon and the runner-up Shreyas Jadhav from SCOE, Vadgaon, Pune.
  • The event “BOX CRICKET” organized by DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING was started at 10 AM on 6TH FEB 2020.
  • The event was organized at NBNSSOE PARKING. The total no of participants was 40.
  • Energy Scenario and Energy Tips for Engineers by Er.D.R.Parkale ,General Manager(Utility & Chem. Maintenance) was conducted on 04.06.2020 by Department of Mechanical Engineering,NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering Timing: 6:30 m to 8:30 pm . Platform: Google meet. Convenors: Prof.S.M.Jadhav, Prof.Manoj M.Joshi.Principal, Dr.S.D.Markande and HoD Mech.Prof.D.H.Burande and other senior staff members attended this webinar. 144 participants attended across various parts of the country attended this webinar from Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Madhyapradesh .50% participants were faculties from academics, 47% were students,3% were from Industry, Research.
  • A team of officers from Mahindra Vehicle Manufactures Ltd., Chakan, Pune visited on 24/01/2020 to see infrastructure available with NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering, Ambegaon(Bk.),Pune .Post ITI/12 th Advanced Diploma Course in Mechanical Engineering the syllabus of which was sent to Mahindra Vehicle Manufactures Ltd., Chakan, Pune.
  • Guest lecture on Study Smart on 23 September, 2019. Third year and final year 96 students attended the seminar.
  • Guest lecture on Career opportunities in German, Japan on 31 July, 2019. Mr. Akshay Khirid of of Global Dialect introduced about this Pune based company providing training in German, Japan. Total 96 students of mechanical engineering were present for the seminar.

Visits conducted by the department in the year 2018-19

Visit to Katraj Dairy, Pune of second year mechanical engineering students of 3 divisions on 20th September, 2019. Total 180 students and 3 teaching staff participated in the visit.

Visit to ASK Industries, Bhosary, Pune of third year mechanical engineering students of 3 divisions on 3rd October, 2019. Total 126 students and 3 teaching staff participated in the visit.
