International Conference Organized For Faculty And Students :
Successful organization of Global Conference by following Social Distancing- NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering, Pune.
Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s NBN Sinhgad school of Engineering recently organized two days “Global Conference on Next Generation Information Communication Technologies (GC-NGICT- 2020)”. This conference was held on 10th-11th April 2020. In the background and potential threat of COVID-19, instead of postponing the conference Institute decided to conduct it using online video conferencing. For this conference, research papers were invited in various areas such as Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Image and video processing etc. Out of 134 research papers 86 papers presented using various online conferencing tools.
In 7 sessions, researchers presented their work which was further evaluated by eminent faculty and subject experts in the respective domains from Pune based well known engineering colleges. Keynote speech for the conference was delivered by Dr. Nilanjan Dey, Professor, Techno India College of Technology from Kolkata using video conferencing. In his speech he discussed the importance and the need of ICT in human life. Dr. Shriram Markande, Principal of the college welcomed all the participants and guided them on the current technology trends. Dr. Amol Dhumane, Head of Computer Department given brief idea about the conference and its motives.
Dr. Shwetambari Chiwhane given the Vote of Thanks to the participants. Dr. Shivprasad Patil, Dr. Makarand Jadhav and all staff of Computer, IT and E &Tc department has taken special effort for the grand success of this conference. Founder President of Sinhgad Institute Prof. M. N. Navale, Founder Secretary Mrs. Sunanda Navale, Vice President (Admin) Mrs. Rachana Navale-Ashtekar and Vice President (HR) Mr. Rohit Navale congratulated the organizing team for its successful execution.

One day Seminar on “Student Career Guidance Program” for second and third year computer engineering students dated on 18th July 2018. Mr. Nagraj Hamilpure, Asst. Sales Manager, Vidyalankar instructor from Vidyalankar, delivered a seminar on quality training for the Competitive Entrance Exams like: IIT-JEE, AIEEE, Engg, MHT-CET, GATE, etc.
Inaugural Function
Department of Computer Engineering, NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering, Pune has inaugurated “NBNSSoE College CSI Student Chapter” Pune on 6th September 2018 under the guidance of Principal Dr Y. P. Reddy. The Chief Guest for the program was Mr. Sangram Kadam, Vice Chairman, CSI-Pune Chapter. The dignitaries present for the inauguration ceremony were Mr. Sangram Kadam, Vice Chairman, CSI-Pune Chapter, Honorable Principal Dr. Y. P. Reddy , Vice-Principal Dr. S. D. Markande, Prof. S. P. Patil, HoD Information Technology, Prof. A. V. Dhumane HoD Computer Engineering (as well as Resource Person for IoT- CSI Region VI), Prof. Ms. S. B. Guja, CSI Coordinator.
Mr. Sangram Kadam enlightened the students with the current technology, CSI Student Branch Culture, national and international events along with sponsoring agencies, Quiz & Project Competitions, various national & international seminars, conferences, summer/winter internships, projects along with sponsoring agencies, job scenario in IT and also informed about the importance of Computer Society of India Student Branch in Education field.
Faculty Development Program on “Cyber Security”
Department of Computer Engineering organized one week Faculty Development Program on “Cyber Security” under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme sponsored by MHRD dated on 8th-13th Apr 2019. This program is jointly organised by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Objective of program centre is capacity building of human resource which is recognized as a critical element to strengthen not only the organization/ institutions but even the people at grassroots level by spreading awareness Cyber security.
Aim is to train teachers with practical skills so that more and more cyber security experts can be shaped every year. It is expected that the ‘Train the Trainers’ approach shall percolate to the students in colleges and make them suitable to take up challenges in the domain of Cyber Security which is the need of this decade and will thus improve their employability enhancing campus placement.
The session was delivered by experts in the domain of cyber security and hacking.

Department of Computer Engineering organized two days state level workshop on “Deep Learning” sponsored by Savitribai Phule Pune University dated on 12th-13th Feb 2019. The perspective of this workshop was to give the idea about Machine Learning, Artificial Inteligence, Hands on session on hanwritten digit identification, Deep Networks.

Workshop on “CISCO CCNA Routing & Switching”
Department of Computer Engineering organized three days workshop on “CISCO CCNA Routing & Switching” under CSI Student Chapter dated on 6th-8th September 2018. The perspective of this workshop was to give the idea about building a simple network, establishing internet connectivity, and all about the networking.

Workshop on Arduino Programming
Department of Computer Engineering organized one day national level workshop on “Arduino Programming” dated on 24th March 2017. The perspective of this Workshop is twofold. First is to train the faculty, Ph.D. pursuing, Ph.D. aspirant and Post graduate students from various institutes with an understanding of principal concepts, major issues, technologies, and basic approaches in the area of “Internet of Things and its applications”. The other perspective is to motivate and encourage the research in the area of future internet which is going to be the need of next generation society.
Resource Persons were prof. A. V. Dhumane from Department of Computer Engineering, NBNSSOE and Prof. H. N. Lokhande from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, NBNSSOE.
Workshop on Selenium Testing Tool
Department of Computer Engineering organized one day workshop on “Selenium Testing Tool” dated on 16th March 2017. The perspective of this workshop was to give the idea about selenium testing tool and how to utilize that knowledge in their respective projects.

Inaugural Function
Department of Computer Engineering had organized an Inaugural Function for Centre of Excellance “Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics” on 01st April 2017. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Function was Mr. Sudhakar Kate DySP, Pune. Mr. Anup Girdhar, CEO-Founder of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi, Mrs. Sangeeta Ghumatkar Dy Director,Regional Forensics Lab, Kolhapur, Mr. Rakesh Patil, Branch Manager (Pune) of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi.
The key note speech was delivered by Mr. Sudhakar Kate/Chief Guest. His speech provided an insight to the students regarding the awareness of cyber security. He discussed the case studies of his experience. He also discussed precautions to be follow while doing any social cyber activity. His speech motivated the young students very much.
After this Mr. Anup Giridhar also gave speech. In his speech, he discussed various case studies related to cyber security. His speech encouraged student a lot to make carieer in cyber forensics.
Guest Lecture and Seminar
Department of Computer Engineering organized a seminar on “Awareness about Research Opportunity in National Need and its execution” for faculties of all departments on 5th January 2017.
The speaker for the seminar was Dr. Madhulika Bhati. She is working as a scientist in National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies. She has completed her post doctoral from the University of West of England. She has a vast experience in innovation in emerging technology related to water, energy and environment. Main objective of the seminar was to orient faculties for current research opportunities. She emphasized on different implementation ideas and ways in which technology will reach to destination.

Multi core Programming
The objective of this session was to explore the concept of multi-core architecture, and understand the fundamentals of multi threading. In this session, the discussion was mainly on the switching of programmer’s perspective from the uni-processor era to the multi-core processor. The session also explored the developer’s choice behind obtaining performance through processor upgrades and the micro architecture improvements.

GridSim (Grid Simulation Tool)

This workshop was conducted to understand and explore the capabilities of Grid computing. The tool, GridSim, allows modeling and simulation of entities in parallel and distributed computing systems such as users, applications, resources, and resource brokers/schedulers for design and evaluation of scheduling algorithms. The understanding of tool made the participants comfortable to design and develops the algorithm for distributed environment.
Rich Internet Application
A Rich Internet Application (RIA) is a web application that has many of the characteristics of desktop application software, typically delivered by way of a site-specific browser, a browser plug-in, an independent sandbox, extensive use of Javascript, or a virtual machine. The workshop on RIA was a unique type of deliberation on design and development of web applications fro various business domain.

This session was intended to explore the possible modern trends in IT industry specifically in India. India has become an IT brand among the global countries over the years. Our country is having strong base in education, well-established telecommunication & infrastructure facilities and favorable market conditions that prevail the technology. India’s Mainframe market is becoming striking for organizations running Mainframe applications on COBOL systems like finance, insurance, banking etc. The seminar was to understand the current situation of IT in our country and relevant situation in world market.
Event management
Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of festivals, events and conferences. Event management involves studying the intricacies of the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event. Post-event analysis and ensuring a return on investment have become significant drivers for the event industry. All the above ideas were main target of this session.
